Healing
Isaiah 55:11
. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.Psalms 103:1. Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.
2. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5. Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Young’s translation
Isaiah 53:3. He is despised, and left of men, A man of pains, and acquainted with sickness, And as one hiding the face from us, He is despised, and we esteemed him not.
4. Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains - he hath carried them, And we - we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5. And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace [is] on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.
Matthew 8:17 . That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
1 Peter 2:24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
James 5:14. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
I want to point out in these scriptures how healing and forgiveness go hand in hand. Why is it so easy to receive forgiveness of sins and not healing of our bodies? We have been taught all our lives to repent of sin, to confess it before God and get forgiveness, yet we haven’t been taught to judge ourselves properly when it comes to sickness. We’ve got some catching up to do.
We have to fight the good fight of faith when it comes to sickness and disease just like we do in the area of sin. Faith works the same for both.
Ro.10:8: But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
We got saved believing and confessing that God raised Jesus from the dead, We have to take God at His Word, He said in His Word that we have been delivered from sin and He said in His Word that we have been delivered from sickness!!! Our attitude must change before we can truly walk in this. We must be as adamant about sickness and disease as we are about sin, and just resist it in the same way we resist sin.
Staying well and free from bondages takes a commitment, but glory to God , the greater one lives in us. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
What I want to do is look at the Lord’s supper, the partaking of the Passover meal.
This was the first time that the reality of what the Passover meal really represented was brought to light.
American Standard
Matthew 26:26. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it; and he gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27. And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28. for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many unto remission of sins.
The disciples didn’t have a real clue at that time as to what Jesus was talking about, Eating his flesh and drinking his blood. They did not understand what He was talking about, they did it as a way of remembering the deliverance of the children of Israel from the bondage of Egypt.
No, He is telling us to do this as a way of honoring the Covenant that he had given to us, and acknowledging what He did. His blood was shed for our sins and His body was broken for our healing.
Lets look at what Paul had to say about this:
1 Corinthians 11:23. For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,
24. and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
25. In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
26. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
27. Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.
28. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself.
30. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.
31. But if we judged ourselves truly, we should not be judged.
32. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are chastened so that we may not be condemned along with the world.
We can not receive healing any more than we can receive forgiveness of sin if we do not acknowledge our redemption! Can we? We have to discern and judge properly the shedding of Jesus blood for the remission of our sins, when we partake of the communion wine, In the same way we must judge our bodies and recognize that Jesus body was broken for us, when we partake of the bread. They always go together, lets not partake of one without partaking of the other!
Paul said in vs. 29 and 30
1 Corinthians 11: 29. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself.
30. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.
For example, some people misunderstand and think they are unworthy to partake holy communion, because of past sin in their life or whatever. I’ve seen people actually refuse to partake, I suppose they thought they would be partaking of the Lords body and drinking His blood unworthily. That doesn’t make sense when you look at it in the light of what the Word is really trying to say. We are partaking communion to acknowledging the redemption of sins, and the price Jesus paid to redeem us of sin, isn’t that right. You have to partake of the blood of Jesus to get forgiveness and cleansing. We have to confess our sin, and accept His cleansing. If we don’t acknowledge His substitute, then we truly are unworthy, It is only in the acknowledging of it, by the drinking of the wine as a token of His blood that we can receive forgiveness of sin, and be cleansed from all unrighteousness. In that same light we have to acknowledge and partake of the bread as a token of His broken body in order to receive healing. They go hand in hand.
Paul said some are weak and ill and some have died. They died because they were not acknowledging the broken body of Jesus. They weren’t discerning the Lords body vs. 29 and they were dying. They weren’t acknowledging the healing as part of their redemption.
If you don’t acknowledge the healer you can’t get healed anymore than if you don’t acknowledge the One who cleanses you from all sin, you can’t receive forgiveness.
Jn:6:54: Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Discern: means, to judge or to discriminate what something represents, to examine, scrutinize.
In other words you’re taking a thorough look at something to understand its meaning. We judge ourselves of sin and ask forgiveness and we must judge our selves of sickness as well.
Heb:9:22: And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
But if you don’t partake of the communion wine as a token substitute of the shed blood , there is no remission of sin, you’ll never get worthy on your own. Never, It won’t happen. Jesus told his disciples, 1st eat, 2nd drink.
This was spoken as a commandment. You can’t get redemption any other way, there is no other way!!!!!!!!!!!!
That doesn’t make sense does it? You have to acknowledge that this is the only way to get forgiveness or you just won’t get it.
If we don’t acknowledge His broken body how are we going to receive healing. It is just as much a part of our redemption as the forgiveness of sins.
His body was broken for us, let us acknowledge it. Healing was purchased at a tremendous cost, just like our forgiveness of sins. They were purchased together. Amen
Jesus will never forget Calvary. You just remind Him of it sometime.
I’ll tell you something else, Satan will never forget it either.
We have to acknowledge that Jesus body was broken for us just like we have to acknowledge Jesus blood was shed for us.
Lets look at Calvary
Mt. 27:54. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Something happened that had never happened before or since in the history of all eternity, and that Centurion didn’t know what was going on, He had never seen a man die like that. Nobody had ever seen a man die like that.
This was the unraveling of the mystery, The mystery hidden throughout the ages.
Rom:16:25: Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
The centurion was greatly afraid. Understand that this guy was an elite soldier, the elite fighting man of the day, the equivalent of the captain of the navy seals. He saw people die all the time, it meant nothing to him.
These guys weren’t afraid of anything. Yet, He and them that were with him were greatly afraid. These people were terrified. Something shook them up to the very core of their being.
-- Revised Standard
Isaiah 53:4 Surely, (of assurity) (guaranteed) he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
Isaiah 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
-- New Jerusalem with Apocrypha
Isaiah 52:14 As many people were aghast at him,
he was so inhumanly disfigured that he no longer looked like a man,
That’s why the centurion was so shook up, He saw up close what happens when all the full curse of the law, all the sickness and all the disease hit one man at one place at one time, and that man was Jesus, and that place was Calvary and that time was the Passover. That centurion said, truly this was the Son of God.
He who knew no sin became sin. His body was broken for our healing. By his stripes or bruises, we are healed. The word stripes is also translated bruises in many translations.
Ex. 12:4. And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
5: Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6: And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7: And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8: And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9: Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10: And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11: And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover.
Nu.9:11.The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
That commandment hasn’t changed, but we know Who and what we’re celebrating. Jesus Christ and our complete redemption.
The Passover was a meal, as in any meal you eat and you drink. That’s a complete meal. Healing and forgiveness is our complete meal.
You can not separate them!
Ps. 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
38: Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
There were 600,000 men and their families. It is estimated between 2 and 3 million people without one single sick person among them. Not one !
These people were slaves, no health benefits, no medical benefits. They stomped mud bricks for a living, not one single sick person among them. They ate the very first communion meal, they ate the Passover lamb. A type of Lord Jesus Christ,
and not one sick among them. GLORY TO GOD!!!!
Confession Of Healing
Heavenly Father, thank You because I’ve been born again. I am your very own child. You are my very own Father. Father I thank you for your great plan of redemption, that you planned and sent the Lord Jesus Christ to complete, and I thank God He did it. I thank you that in that plan of redemption, there is not only the remission of sins, and the new birth, but there is healing for my physical body. For it is written in Mt.8:17 that himself Jesus took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses. What he bore I need not bare. Because he bore them, I’m free. I say it with my mouth, because I believe it in my heart, Himself took my infirmities, and bare my sicknesses. Therefore I no longer have sicknesses, I no longer have infirmities.
I believe it in my heart, because I believe it in my heart, I confess it with my mouth, I am healed. I am well, for I am not under the curse, I am not under the curse. Jesus has ransomed me. Jesus has redeemed me, for sickness I’ve health, for poverty wealth, since Jesus has ransomed me.
Jesus redeemed me from the curse of sickness, I’m not under the curse I’m under the blessing of Abraham. I am well.
I am healed. Glory to God!
